David Abad obtained his Biology degree at the University of Oviedo (Asturias). Soon after he finished, he got a grant from the Iñaki Goenaga Foundation to participate in the FP7 project “Nanomaterials related Environmental Pollution and Health Hazards throughout their life-cycle” in Inasmet-Tecnalia (San Sebastian). He also has a M.Sc. in Food Biotechnology from the same university, where he carried out a genetic evaluation of the Asturian salmonid populations as natural resources. He is currently working at the University of the Basque Country on a PhD entitled “Metabarcoding Analysis of the Eukaryotic Planktonic Communities of the Estuary of Bilbao”, under the supervision of Dr. Andone Estonba and Dr. Aitor Albaina.
